The annual Diocesan Youth Gathering (DYG) — November 6–7 at Grace & Trinity Cathedral, Kansas City. A weekend for grades 5–12 to dig deeper into faith, community, and creativity through breakout sessions, prayer through art, music, meditation, games, and community service. Cost: $25. November title: This Other Eden by Paul Harding — a novel inspired by the true story of Malaga Island, one of the first racially integrated towns in the Northeast, and the struggle to preserve human dignity. Join us to help clean up the church and grounds on Saturday, November 14. Starting at 8:30 AM. Dress for the weather — pay special attention to your shoes as it may be muddy! Bring garden gloves and a rake if you have one. Please let Laura Williams know if you can make it.
The children's Nativity program is moving to the Feast of the Epiphany — a more liturgically appropriate time to celebrate the Nativity and Epiphany, and more compatible with family holiday plans. Join the planning meeting on Sunday, November 15 after the 10:15 AM service. Contact the church office if you'd like to see this tradition continue at Good Shepherd.
All youth and families are invited to join together for a "favorites" Thanksgiving meal — 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Good Shepherd. Gather for fellowship and thanksgiving while enjoying a meal of everyone's favorite foods. Plan to bring a favorite dish to share. Drinks will be provided.

The four Sundays of Advent begin the weekend of November 28–29. Advent devotional booklets with daily meditations will be available in the foyer. Also available as a free daily email, podcast, and app from Living Compass at livingcompass.org/advent. Sunday School youth will participate in the Jesse Tree tradition during the 10:15 AM service throughout Advent.
