Good Shepherd Youth
Nursery
Sundays from 9:00 AM
Infant and toddler care every Sunday beginning at 9:00 AM, staffed by two trained and background-checked nursery workers. Located at the end of the hall past the elevator. Parents are notified right away if their child needs them.
Children's Chapel
Sundays during 10:15 AM service
During the first part of the 10:15 AM service, children participate in age-appropriate worship in Children's Chapel, then return to sit with their families for Communion. Joyful, engaging, and just the right length for little ones.
Christian Formation
Sundays · 10:00 AM (school year)
Age-appropriate Christian education classes for children in multiple groups by age. Teens also have their own formation hour at 9:00 AM during the school year. Classes follow the rhythm of the church calendar.
Acolyte Program
Sundays at 10:15 AM
Youth from 3rd grade through high school serve as acolytes — carrying the cross, torches, and Gospel book during worship. One of the most meaningful ways young people can participate in the life of the church. Contact the office to sign up.
Youth Group Events
Monthly, led by Laura Williams
Our Youth Director plans monthly events with real input from the youth — bowling, movies, lunch outings, seasonal activities, and more. Low-pressure, fun, and a genuine community for middle and high school students.
Work Camp
Annual summer mission trip
Each summer, youth and adult chaperones travel together for a week-long mission trip — working alongside other Episcopal youth on home repair and community service. Youth step into leadership, share daily devotionals, and come back changed. Details shared each spring through the newsletter.
Christian Education
Sunday School
Sundays at 10:00 AM · September through May
Children's Sunday School meets every Sunday morning at 10:00 AM during the school year, beginning the Sunday after Labor Day. Classes run in five age groups — from preschool through high school — and meet concurrently with the 10:15 AM service so the whole family arrives together.
Children use the Godly Play curriculum, a story-based approach to scripture, paired with crafts and activities from the Weaving God's Promises program. No registration required — just bring your child on Sunday morning.
Teenagers have their own separate formation hour at 9:00 AM before the main service. Sunday School follows the school-year calendar — no classes over the summer or on major holiday weekends.
